New Year's Eve in Lisbon Day 1st – 29th of December 2011 Arrival at Lisbon. Accommodation at a hotel. A walk around the centre of Lisbon (6 hours): A tram lift ride on Alcantara vantage point. A walk through Bairro Alto and Chiado districts (the church of St. Roch, vantage point on Elevador Santa Justa), a drive by the famous No. 28 tram to Senhora Monte vantage point, a walk in the direction of Alfama (passing a Graca vantage point). Sightseeing of historic alleys of Alfama. A stopover in a traditional bar serving ginjinha. Baixa with Comercio Square, Rossio and the Church of St. Dominic. 8.30 p.m. – a fado supper in a restaurant with a view of Lisbon Day 2nd – 30th of December 2011 The environs of Lisbon (Sintra, Cabo da Roca, Bucelas) – 8 hours 10.00 a.m. – a trip to Cabo da Roca, Europe’s westernmost point. A visit in the picturesque town of Sintra, walking around and free time for lunch, sightseeing of the Quita de Regaleira palace. 4.30 p.m. – Bucelas, vineyard sightseeing, supper and Portuguese wines tasting Day 3rd – 31st of December 2011 10 a.m. – sightseeing of the most beautiful part of the city – the famous Belem district with the Hieronymites Monastery, the Belem Tower and the Monument to the Discoverers 12.00 p.m. – a visit to the modern Parque das Nacoes district, sightseeing of oceanarium, a cable railway ride along the shores of the Tagus river 8.00 p.m. – the full-dress New Year’s Eve supper After supper: the New Year’s Eve party on the Commerce Square. Day 4th – 1st of January 2012 Free time Around 3.00 p.m. – a meal in a typical Portuguese restaurant Day 5th – 2nd of January 2012 A travelling trip: Obidos – Nazare – Fatima – Batalha (8 hours) 10.00 a.m. – sightseeing of the medieval town of Obidos, famous for chocolate and delicious ginginhi (cherry liqueur). A stopover by the ocean in the picturesque located resort of Nazare. A visit in Fatima – one of the most famous Marian shrines. The Batalha Monastery sightseeing, the most beautiful example of soaring Gothic in Portugal. 6.00 p.m. – a supper in a typical Portuguese restaurant Day 6th – 3rd of January 2012 Departure Price from 500 €, depending on the number of people · 5 night’s lodging in a three-star hotel incl.
