Music Mania Summer Camp Make friends, have fun and be creative!Our Summer Camp is designed to provide a fun, musical experience for boys and girls aged 4 to 12 years. This is an enjoyable and exciting camp facilitating all musical standards.  Children will learn music through the natural process of ‘Musical play’; this will include well known methods used by the famous music educators Zoltan Kodaly and the Carl Orff approach. The children are exposed to music through songs, games and group activities, encouraging self expression and creativity.
This camp poses a unique opportunity to develop musical talents under the guidence of professional, practising musicians and experienced teachers.Summer CampsThe camp will be divided into two sections, the first section will consist of pre-instrumental classes catering for children aged 4 to 6 years and the second section will cater for children aged 7 to 12 years which will be further broken down into two groups (7 - 9 years and 10 - 12 years).Pre–instrumental Group (4 - 6 years)This division of the summer camp will take the children on a learning adventure in the world of music and movement. These classes greatly contribute to childrens motor and social skills, sensory preceptions and vocal control. It naturally develops music appreciation and understanding, as well as basic skills that will be helpful in all future music learning.
The course combines the use of percussion instruments in a fun and exciting way, while also developing the childs rhythmic and aural abilities, music vocabulary, music appreciation (through active listening) and introduction and exploration of the instruments of the orchestra.
Music Mania Group (7 - 12 years)This is an enjoyable and exciting camp aimed at students from 7 - 12 years of age, facilitating all standards from beginners to advanced levels. Students will experience a hands-on, practical approach to music making through groupwork in a fun and light hearted way.

Rhythm and Pitch Skills: Students will learn the basics of rhythm and pitch through musical games and songs.
Instrument Making: Students will make musical instruments that will be used in our group CD recording at the end of the week.
Music and Movement: Campers will create their own musical stories to well known tales through musical movement and mime.
Song Writing and Singing: Students will be introduced to the basic elements of song writing in a fun and exciting way.
Composing: Campers will be given the opportunity to create their own graphic scores which will be recorded at the end of the week.
Free Music CD: At the end of the week each student will recieve a performance CD of material that they have worked on throughout the week.
By actively playing, as well as listening, campers are introduced to the very basics of rhythm and solfage. They learn a very important element of making music in a group – everyone plays an essential part no matter how big or small it is.
